Baby Blogger... Lessons Learned

Just when I thought I was starting to get the hang of this blogging thing... Wham! My laptop crashed!  Thankfully, my wonderful brother in law is a Mac Specialist and was able to hook me up with a new, larger hard drive.  YAY!  But... I lost so much of my work.  After a mini-lecture  talk, I promised to always back up my work.  So... I signed up for Dropbox.com.  From now on I will be saving all of my files for home and work to their website.  And I can see so many benefits now.  I can start a project at home and continue it at work.  I can take pictures on my iPhone and send them to my iPad or any computer.  I can't wait to really see the benefits!

Now to continue floundering as a baby blogger!  I FINALLY figured out how to make my button.  I think it's a pretty good first attempt.  It needs some tweaking but, it'll do for now.

  1. Good morning, Meg, and welcome to our blogosphere! I commented at Tunstall Times right after you and loved the name of you blog. So here I am, your first follower. I will add you to my blog roll over at the Corner and maybe some of my readers will come your way. I'm happy you're here!

    Sending smiles,

  2. Barbara,
You just MADE my day! Thanks so much for your support and kind words of encouragement! I see you are a counselor! Unfortunately that was one of the things my school district cut in recent years. Now the responsibility falls on us as the teachers to do everything our guidance counselor used to, on top of our teaching responsibilities. It's tough but, good for you for making a difference in so many little lives! Thanks again!

  4. Hey Meg!!! Your blog name is so stinkin cute!! I can tell you have a bubbly personality and I'm so excited to be your newest follower. I'm like you, very determined to be successful in this blog world, but to stay humble like our sweet Erica!!! Did you enjoy your student teacher? My principal asked me if I would take one this year and I did. She was with me the first part of the school year. I must say I was nervous that she wouldn't be great because I heard how some can be not so good. Mine was fabulous!!! Doesn't it feel good that you were a student teacher once and someone took you in and now your doing the same? What a cool feeling. Happy blogging girl!!!

    1. Thanks Tiffany! Having a student teacher was a great experience this time around. I had a very bad one a few years back, so bad that she was removed... yikes! My ST this time is great and it's been good for me to let go some of my (OCD, control-freak) tendencies. I felt like a mama bird. "I taught you everything I know now, out of the nest and fly on your own." Sometimes she flopped but most of the time she flew wonderfully. She's teaching full-time for one more week, but then I get them back. I've missed being "the teacher" and doing my thing, but overall it was a very positive experience and a great way to pay it forward to our future teachers. Thanks for stopping by!

    2. Meg this is why I'm afraid to take another on in the future because of that experience you had. Yikes! Is right. That was my problem letting go but I did but I'm like you I wanted the class back. I'm sure she did well with having such a great example. Enjoy your last week with her. =)
